Abstract: In this presentation an overview of the existing receiving facilities and receivers at the Medicina and Noto sites will be shown. New developments in term of receiver architecture and performances, in order to match requirements from the scientific community, will be described together with some receiver concepts as outlined by our point of view. Moreover a complete receiving scheme of the new big italian radio telescope, under construction in Sardinia, will be summarized.
