Announcement of the 4th RadioNet Engineering Forum Workshop:


Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the RadioNet Engineering Forum Workshop "Next Generation Correlators for Radio Astronomy and Geodesy". The workshop will be held in June 2006 in the city of Groningen, The Netherlands, and will be hosted by the Joint Institute for VLBI in Europe. This meeting is the fourth in a series of the engineering workshops sponsored and organized by the EU Consortium RadioNet within the Sixth Framework Program of the European Commission.

Workshop Objectives

This meeting in Groningen is aimed at bringing together engineers in the field of correlators, radio astronomers and geodesists. This workshop will set the stage for sharing the diverse and high-level expertise within these communities.

Programme

A preliminary programme can be found here. Oral presentations will be allowed either 10 or 20 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion.

Registration

Registration for the workshop can be made using the online registration form. The size of the conference facilities will limit the number of attendees to approximately 60 people. Attendees who wish to give a presentation should send a title and abstract (100 words maximum) to dijk@jive.nl by 2006 April 30. Please do not hesitate to contact the LOC if you have questions.

Accomodation

The workshop will be held at the NH Groningen Hotel, in Groningen, The Netherlands. A block of rooms for workshop attendees has been reserved at this hotel through 2006 March 27, at a reduced rate. Attendeees are responsible for their own hotel registration, which can be accomplished by filling out the hotel registration page.

Financial Assistance

Limited financial assistance will be provided by RadioNet for speakers and attendees with high travel cost. Please contact the chairman of the Engineering Forum, ReinhardKeller, for more information.

Deadlines

Please register as early as possible. The deadline for abstract submissions is April 30, 2006.

The deadline for hotel reservations is 2006 March 27. Room availability after this date is not guaranteed.
