Abstract
The objective of the FARADAY project is to undertake the R&D required to produce two-dimensional receiver arrays to be installed at the foci of large radio telescopes and hence greatly to improve their observational efficiency. At the heart of the project is the design of complex monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs). A complete Ka band radiometer front-end MMIC chip set, with at least 20% bandwidth, has been developed and will be presented. The overall receiver system will also be discussed.
