See VisitToJodrellBankObservatory for timetable

Guides: Ian Morison, Sanhita Joshi, Ming Zhang, Francisco Blanco

Need to cover two full tours, 3 guides per group. I have allowed an hour per tour but it could be less. One tour starts at 3.00, one at 5.20. Each group of ~33 can be split further into 3 groups of 11. As the ERIS students are all radio astronomers interested in interferometry and some of them have a technical background it would be nice to show them as much as possible, e.g. see if you can actually take them into the Control Room and one of the labs.

My suggestion (only a suggestion, please modify!) is ~10 mins each for:

  1. Control Room
  2. Lovell Room
  3. VLBI Room
  4. MERLIN - outside if fine (in sight of microwave tower, Mk2 etc.) or on bridge outside Control Room
  5. Lab?

You could if you prefer take them round the Lovell although they will also have free time to do that.

So that for each group e.g.

Please can you sort out betwen you who does what and a suitable itinery and let me know.
