We are pleased to announce the RadioNet Engineering Forum Workshop "New Trends in Receiver Developments". The workshop will be held on Monday, 30 May 2005 at the Istituto di Radioastronomia in Medicina. This meeting is the second in a series of the engineering workshops sponsored and organized by the EU Consortium RadioNet within the Sixth Framework Program of the European Commission.

WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES
This meeting in Medicina is aimed at bringing together receiver engineers who are working in the field of radiometer frontends and who are involved in the design of current and future projects in this area. The workshop should set the stage for sharing the diverse and high-level expertise within the Radio Astronomy Institutes. It should help isolate common technical challenges and pre-existing solutions, encourage collaboration and collaborative projects, and the shared information could reduce costs.
PROGRAM OF THE WORKSHOP
The meeting will be informal and should offer lots of time for discussions. Each presentation is limited to a maximum of about 30 minutes with an additional 15 minutes for discussion.
Start of workshop: 9:00
End of workshop: 17:00
followed by a reception with more opportunities for discussions, etc.

A preliminary list of topics include:
- Broadband Components: feed horns, waveguide components, microwave planar circuits, passive MMIC components, ...
- Receiver Concepts: broadband concepts, Direct-detection, multi-beam receivers, ...
- Digital Receivers: sampling at RF, RFI with digital equipment, ...
Active components such as LNA, SIS will get a forum at one of the next workshops.
The program is maintained by the SOC: AndreaCremonini, NeilRoddis, ReinhardKeller and Eduardo Artal. They will be responsible for selection of the presentations and the proceedings.
POSTER AND ORAL PRESENTATION
Talks will be given in the Medicina Radiotelescopes Visitor Centre Conference Hall. Presentation are strongly recommeded in PowerPoint. Posters will be placed in free standing panels in a nearby area. Each panel is 90 cm x 110 cm. LOC cannot support Poster Printing so attendants must provide them . We apologize for this inconvenience.
PROCEEDINGS
The presentations will be made available via Internet.

Please register as early as possible. Deadline for paper submissions will be 15 May 2005.
