Financial Support

Some support for travel and accommodation is available through RadioNet.

• In general, only personnel from EC and Associated States are eligible for support.

• The primary contact person for travel authorization is the ALMA Forum chairman (Robert Laing, rlaing@eso.org).

• All travel must be authorized in advance by the ALMA Forum chairman or RadioNet will not reimburse travel. Please send your request for support before the meeting to Robert Laing.

• Procedure for payment:

Your or your institute will have to pre-finance the travel and submit a travel claim afterwards through the ALMA Forum or Engineering Forum for reimbursement. You will be informed by Robert Laing whether to use the ALMA Forum or Engineering Forum claim form. Claim forms and instructions are at http://www.radionet-eu.org/na/travelforms.php

When the claimant's institute has paid for (part of) the claimant's travel (e.g. airfare), there are two possibilities:

a. The claimant fills in the claim form with his/her own banking information, JIVE (who administers the NA funds) pays directly to the claimant, and the claimant pays back to his/her institute.

b. The institute sends a copy of the travel invoice to the ALMA Forum or Engineering Forum chairman, he fills in a RadioNet claim form, signs and sends to JIVE for payment to the insitute.

In both cases, the forms and receipts must be sent along with the claim to the chairman who will sign the form and send it to JIVE, where the NA funds are administered.
