2005 Young European Radio Astronomers' Conference
We are pleased to announce that the XXXV YERAC will be held in Cagliari, Italy on 12 - 16 October 2005.
The 2005 YERAC is supported by FP6 RadioNet and the Italian National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF). This funding will cover the full cost of accomodation and meals (arrival on 12 October 2005, departure on October 16 2005).
Location
Cagliari has an international airport very close to the city centre. We suggest that participants look into the flight possibilities as soon as possible, in order to explore the possibility of very cheap flights.
The Conference will take place in Hotel Panorama, Viale Diaz 231, Cagliari, where all participants will also be accomodated. Hotel Panorama is located at walking distance from the city centre. A city map and travel instructions will be circulated at a further stage.
Participation
Traditionally, participation in YERAC is by invitation. An announcement will be sent out to various European institutions and universities, asking for nominations of undergraduate/postgraduate research students or postdocs who have recently obtained their PhD to attend the meeting.
Students who wish to register should address their email messages to yerac05@ca.astro.it, before July 31st 2005.
Since all participants will be accomodated in double or triple rooms, please indicate the name of the person you would like to share your room with, should you have a preference.
Fundings
Only a small amount of money may be available to partially support the travel expenses for a very limited number of participants. In case you would like to be considered for this financial support, please send a message to yerac05@ca.astro.it with a motivation.
Programme
Each participant will be given 15+5 minutes to present her/his research work. Upon registration, participants are requested to send the title of their contribution and a short abstract. A welcome talk will be given by the Dirctors of the hosting Institutes (Cagliari Astronomical Observatory and Istituto di Radioastronomia). Review talks on the main research activities of the hosting insitutes will also be presented during the Conference. A preliminary programme will be made available as soon as possible after the deadline registration.
